Personal Reflections

Some people are one or the other (male or female)
Some people are both or neither
Some people change
Some people stay ‘the same’
Some people are still looking
Some people are questioning
Some people connect with their anatomic characteristics
Some people don’t
Some people are born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male
Some cis men are effeminate and straight
Some cis women are masculine and gay
Some women love women , fall in love and get married (in the UK)
Some men love men
Some people fall in love with 2 gender identities
Some fall in love with a person rather than a designated gender
Some people can’t fall in love
Sexual act and romance can be together or not
Some people want to be with one person for the rest of their lives
Some don’t
Variety is the spice of life
What does it matter
If you’re not sure just ask
Ask for their names and preferred pronouns
Don’t ask about what they have between their legs … that’s none of your business
Gender identity and expression stem from the brain , not your genitalia
Sex is what you’re assigned at birth in a binary system that denies the very existence of intersex and non binary people , gender fluid, gender variant and gender Queer people ….
Labels help us define and understand but they should not become discriminative and exclusive
Love, respect and understanding to everyone
Please forgive me if this post does not represent you , it would take an entire book to list and explain every one within our LGBTIQ+ communities
